This winter marked the third anniversary of Rumi’s Table, a project close to our hearts at Love Mercy Hope. For the past three years, Rumi’s Table has been dedicated to feeding those in need, both here in the UK and around the world. To celebrate this milestone, we organised a special winter distribution, providing essential items to help those struggling through the cold months.
Our team of volunteers handed out life-saving items like gloves, hats, scarves, coats, socks, and jumpers, along with canned food to ensure that those we serve can stay warm and nourished. We also added a sweet touch to the distribution by handing out cupcakes, bringing a little extra joy to those who joined us.
Over the years, Rumi’s Table has become more than just a place to receive a meal. We’ve gotten to know many of the regulars who attend, building relationships and a sense of community that goes beyond the food we serve. Since we began, Rumi’s Table has provided 6,371 meals to those in need—a number that reflects the impact we’ve been able to make, thanks to the support of our community.
We couldn’t have achieved this without the generosity and support of our partners, including iCare, DG Cars, Muslim Hands UK, Chunky Chicken, and Pak Foods. And of course, none of this would be possible without our incredible volunteers, who dedicate their time and energy to ensuring that Rumi’s Table continues to be a beacon of hope for those who need it most.
As we look back on the past three years, we’re filled with gratitude for everyone who has been a part of this journey. Rumi’s Table is more than just a project—it’s a testament to what we can achieve when we come together to care for one another. We look forward to continuing this work, feeding more people, and spreading love, mercy, and hope wherever it’s needed.
