October saw LMH take a handful of volunteers on a spiritual retreat to Cyprus. It was a beautiful blend of comfort, relaxation, training, and more. Our trip started with us visiting Shaykh Nazim’s Dergah over the week. This allowed us to take many blessings and spiritual guidance and allowed us to switch off and focus on our spiritual states.
The week also included ziyarats to Hala Sultan Tekke, the wet nurse of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in Larnaca, We also visited the Seven Sahaba in Gurne, where seven blessed companions, including Hazrat Omar lay rest.
The trip also allowed us to hold Cyprus’ first-ever Silat conference. Under the teaching of our teacher Abdur Rahman, we had a very special lesson on the basics of Silat with the Cypriot locals. The attendees were taught the art of movement, how to evade opponents and the secrets of the centre of gravity.
The attendees left feeling very content and were left with many lessons they can take back into their own training and in their own daily activities.
“For someone who has trained his entire life, I can say this is truly one of a kind” – Tommy, Larnaca“The conference has allowed me to refocus, as I haven’t been in the best of places recently. It has been such a blessing spending time with the brothers from LMH” – Sikandar, Larnaca.
